All 36 Bubbly Basin habitats

Materials, spawns and a value ratio for each habitat. Tick the ones you have already built — the material planner reads that list and stops charging you for habitats that are already standing.

All 36 habitats, ranked

The same rows as the table, drawn end to end, because a spread this wide is hard to feel in a list. The chart is generated from the data above every time the page renders — there is no image file, and if the dataset changes the bars change with it.

The longest bars are Basin tall grass and Swaying flower bed at 4.00 Pokémon per material type; the shortest is Mermaid's Gym at 0.13. Computed on this page — every habitat in the table above, sorted by distinct Pokémon divided by distinct material types. Best: Basin tall grass (4 Pokémon, 1 material type) and Swaying flower bed (4 Pokémon, 1 material type). Worst: Mermaid's Gym (1 Pokémon, 8 material types). The table above this chart carries the same rows as text.

How the value column is calculated

Value = distinct Pokémon the habitat spawns ÷ number of distinct material types it needs. Quantities are not in the divisor: the ratio counts how many different materials a habitat asks for, not how many units of each. Where any of those materials are found is not in our dataset, so the ratio says nothing about how long gathering will take.

The Pokémon count is de-duplicated by Pokédex entry, so a habitat listing both Frillish forms counts them once, while the Pokémon column above keeps the original ♂/♀ spawn labels from the source table.

Worked through on the best row: Basin tall grass needs Seabed Tall Grass ×4 and spawns Mudkip, Buizel, Totodile, Feraligatr. That is 4 Pokémon over 1 material type, so 4.00. Note what the arithmetic ignores: it needs four units of that one material, and four units do not count against it. A habitat asking for one unit each of four different things scores four times worse on exactly the same amount of gathering — if those four things happen to be lying next to each other, the ratio has misled you.

On the current dataset the top of the table is Basin tall grass at 4.00 (4 Pokémon from 1 material type), and the bottom is Mermaid's Gym at 0.13 (1 Pokémon from 8 material types). Both ends are computed from the table, so they change if the data does. A bad ratio is not a reason to skip a habitat when it is the only source of something you still need — the tracker's ★ filter shows which those are.

Where the ratio will lead you wrong

A ranking invites you to read it top to bottom and stop when you get bored. On this table that is a mistake, and the reason is in a different column of a different page: how many habitats each Pokémon can come from. 29 of the 50 Pokémon are spawned by exactly one habitat, which makes 28 of the 36 habitats here compulsory for a complete Pokédex no matter where they sit in the ranking.

Mermaid's Gym is the clearest case. It is last by a distance — 0.13, 8 distinct material types for 1 Pokémon — and it is also the only habitat in the dataset that spawns Starmie. Skipping it on value grounds means never completing the Pokédex. The ratio is a question about order, not about inclusion: it tells you what to build while you still have a choice, and stops being relevant the moment a habitat is the last remaining route to something.

Two further limits worth stating plainly. The dataset has no material locations in it, so nothing here knows whether Seabed Flowers are underfoot or a swim away — a habitat with a great ratio can still be the slow one. And the ratio treats every Pokémon as equally wanted, which stops being true the moment you are down to a named few: the arithmetic has no opinion about which habitats give you those. That is the job of the planner, which reruns the calculation against the Pokémon you personally have left.

How to use this table

  1. Tick what is already standing. The Built column is not decoration — the planner subtracts those habitats from any plan it builds, so a plan made without ticking them will charge you twice for things you own.
  2. Filter, do not scroll. The filter box matches habitat names, material names and Pokémon names at once, so typing a Pokémon shows every habitat that spawns it and typing a material shows everything that wants it. That second one is the useful one after a gathering trip: search the thing you came back with and see what it unlocks.
  3. Sort by material types when you are short of variety. Value-first ordering is right when you have a broad inventory. When you are missing specific things, ordering by fewest material types finds the builds you can actually complete today.
  4. Check the tracker before dismissing the bottom of the table. The ★ filter there lists every Pokémon with a single source habitat. Anything in that list makes its habitat non-negotiable.

The Built ticks live in this browser's local storage, with no account and no sync. Clearing site data clears them, and a private window starts empty.
